Partners in Slime is an odd, cool story.
This book is about two boys, Jake and Cooper, who really want to save up to go to an
amusement park. So they come up with a whole lot of different ideas but in the end, they decide to sell slime. They put odd ingredients in that make it magnetic. Jake leaves the slime on his turtle enclosure and his turtle eats it overnight and turns HUGE!
I think the author’s aim for this book was to show people how much imagination people actually have. The author must have a lot of imagination to create a book like this.
I think it was really cool how the author put in the turtle. I love odd amphibians such as axolotl and turtles. I have five fish of my own who I love very much.
I found as I read this book that there is a lot of competition between Jake and his younger sister, but something I really like is how Jake and Cooper get into so much trouble and their parents barely even notice. They get so much freedom. I really like how their parents are making them save up for the amusement park so then they can learn how to save and value their money.
Jake seems like such a cool kid. I really love how at the end of the book he and his sister finally get along. Jake definitely is the main character, and Cooper is just his trusty sidekick, aka best friend.
This book just seems like something out of an odd dream.
I think Partners in Slime really relates to a couple of years ago when slime was the coolest thing ever. Now it seems to have gone down but maybe it might become a thing again who knows. When I was younger I really enjoyed the big fluffy slime. So then we could get lots of bubbles and pop them.
